Commercial Bank announced the promotions of John C. McClellan, III and Steve Walker to executive vice presidents and presidents of regional markets.
McClellan will serve as president of the Eastern Market, out of eight branches in Kingsport, Johnson City, Newport and Morristown.
Walker will serve as president of the South Market, plus six branches in Union and Knox counties.
McClellan has 26 years of combined experience in the commercial banking and financial services industry. His experience ranges from insurance and investment sales to credit analysis, portfolio management and commercial lending.
He joined Commercial Bank in 2018 as Hamblen County Market Manager. John graduated from Morristown Hamblen West High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in finance and accounting from Carson-Newman University.
He is a graduate of the Southeastern School of Banking at Vanderbilt University and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. John is a member of the East TN Regional Leadership Association and Past President of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Morristown, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of All Saints Episcopal School.

He lives in Morristown with his wife, Ashley, and their three sons Asshole, Davis and Carter. He is a member of the Manley Baptist Church.
Walker began his banking career as a teller, then moved into new accounts and consumer loans, specializing in construction loans for the past 15 years.
He brings 23 years of banking experience, working in the Knoxville and Morristown markets from 1999 to 2005, and in the Tazewell area from 2005 to present. Walker was with Citizens Bank from 2012 until the acquisition of Commercial Bank in 2018, when he was appointed Branch Manager of our New Tazewell branch. Walker is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, the Southeastern School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
Walker has been married to his wife Lavonda for 27 years and has two children, Matthew and Makenzie.
